"Beterem – The National Center for Children's Health and Safety is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a world safe for children in Israel. Beterem, originally founded in 1995 at the Schneider Children's Medical Center by Professor Yehuda Danon, the founding Director of the Schneider Children’s Medical Center and former surgeon general, and Dr. Michal Hemo-Lotem, a pediatrician, now works out of 5 main hospitals throughout the country and with communities nationwide. Beterem currently has 40 employees, some of whom are part-time.
Beterem is the only organization dealing exclusively in child safety in Israel. "
